Gag Bridle - Comfort Snaffle

Gag Bridle - Comfort Snaffle

For the horse that's sensitive on the tongue.

The Comfort Snaffle works almost exactly like our Gag Snaffle, with one key difference: it doesn't close on the tongue. It stays open over it, while still letting you separate right from left, mainly by lifting one hand slightly more than the other.

Zorik's take: "It's for sensitive horses, mostly on the tongue, that don't yet know how to travel straight under us, which throws us off balance. It's for any sensitive horse, no matter the age or type."

Best for

  • Any horse sensitive on the tongue, at any age
  • Horses that don't yet travel straight under the rider

Why it works

  • Doesn't close on the tongue
  • Clear right/left separation with a slight lift of one hand
  • The gag delay: time to think before direct pressure

What's included: complete gag bridle with bit, in Short, Medium or Long.

Specs

  • Mouth: 5"
  • Material: stainless steel
  • Made in the USA

Selected and used by trainer Zorik Michaeli, matched to each horse's needs.

FAQ

Which MTO bit is right for my horse?

Choose by what your horse is doing, not by its age. Not sure? Email us at mtoequestriansupply@gmail.com and we'll help you choose.

What size are MTO bits?

All MTO bits have a 5" mouth, which fits most horses. On our gag bridles, you can adjust the fit by sliding the two knots on the rope.

What are MTO bits made of?

Stainless steel, made in the USA. The Comfy Port D is wrapped in silicone, and our gag bridles use a stiff lasso rope for a clear, gradual signal.

Do you offer returns or exchanges if the bit doesn’t fit?

Yes! We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase, provided the item is unused and in its original condition.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 2–3 business days. Standard shipping usually takes 3–7 business days within the U.S. Orders over $99 qualify for free shipping.

How should I clean and care for my bit?

After each use, rinse the bit with warm water and gently wipe it dry. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and make sure it is completely dry before storing.
